JESSE
MOTLOP

Medium Forward

Junior clubs: South Coogee JFC (WA)
AFL debut: Round 9, 2022
Recruited from: South Fremantle

Jesse Motlop certainly turned heads in his first year in the Navy Blue, managing 12 games in his maiden AFL season.

Living up to his family name, the cheeky goal-sneak was electric in the forward line, kicking 12 goals in his 12 games, earning a Goal of the Year nomination in the process.

Motlop’s forward pressure was a hallmark of his game, ranking 15th in the competition for tackles inside 50 per game – a key area of focus for Carlton’s new-look ‘mosquito fleet’ under Michael Voss.

Heading into his second season at the elite level, Motlop will aim to take his natural football talents and flair a step further.

Yasmin
DUURSMA

After playing 11 games at the Power, Duursma is back in her home state of Victoria, where brothers Zane and Xavier also reside playing for AFL clubs.

Playing on the wing, Duursma has a strong running capacity and can creatively and effectively use the ball. She can win the ball in the air and prides herself on her endurance base and work rate.

Draft history: Pick No.45 in the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.

CHLOE
WRIGLEY

Inside midfielder

A standout of the WAFLW competition, Chloe Wrigley got her chance to have a crack at the elite level when she was selection by Carlton in the 2023 AFLW Supplementary Draft.

A 50-game player for the Peel Thunder since her debut back in 2019, the inside midfielder forged a reputation as one of the WA state league’s brightest prospects, starring for her side on the way to back-to-back premierships in 2020 and 2021 — she was named best on ground in the Grand Final for the first.

Draft history: Pick No.25 in the 2023 AFLW Supplementary Draft.
